I told you it doesn't matter since it's just sprites. Also Fireworks is what I've been using the whole time, best deal for me. It can also edit it has a pencil tool that draws with pixels exactly like paint. Only thing is if you wanna do blurs with it...don't.SoarKrieg wrote:I got Photoshop CS4 for free, lol. I wish someone told me all that before I bothered, though. But does anyone have any advice about that program Leo mentioned that I always hear about; Fireworks?

Stop saying "every other program", because I'm pretty sure you haven't used "every other program". There are a bunch of other programs that MIGHT as well do that. Like, Gimp. >. >

You're not really supposed to with ANY program. The only reason it works with Fireworks is either because Adobe thought to make it side compatible, or because they just so happen to use similar image routines. Thing is, when an image is active in an editor, its format is very different than a normal image. When pasted into Flash, it tries to compromise the data as an image and fucks up. You're gonna have complications most of the time, like missing colors or stretched images. You should always save your image to a real image file first like png.

Been doing it for almost a year and never once did that happen. Only annoying thing is that everything pasted is automatically named "Flash0". That's about it. Never color mess ups or stretching or anything of that sort, everything pasted is exactly as copied. So maybe adobe did make it side compatible.Mr Lange wrote:DarkZeroXP wrote:leocartoon1 wrote:Yup. Whenever I post from Fireworks to Flash, it usually creates a new folder 'Fireworks Objects'. I guess it makes it easier for me. Although, I use Macromedia Flash 8 and Macromedia Fireworks, so I dunno.Eric wrote:

Not really he just made it so that everyone who sucks can improve. It's for everyone. Not directed at you. But if you feel kind, then make him something using this tutorial.SuperSonicX wrote:Thank you Mr. lang for the Tutoral Really does help I owe you alot![]()

Mr Lange wrote:Your FPS is very important. Never use 12 you noob. Unless a special situation calls for it, I'd never go above 30 and never go below 20. For a long animation, 25 is often a good compromise. You will get very nice results with 30, but be prepared to animate lots of frames. I always use clean cut numbers because you will often need to do frames to seconds conversions in your head, which is easier when the numbers count by 5s or 10s. Don't listen to people who use 24 fps, that doesn't even make sense.
Uh oh! I think I'm in trouble! I use 24 fps!

Well, I can see how 25 fps would make sense then when you put it that way. Though it may be a little more helpful to elaborate a bit more on how I will often need to do frames to seconds conversions in my head. Because right below the timeline shows your Current Frame, Frame Rate, and of course Elapsed Time. Is this so I won't be lazy be a better mathematician? I don't know, you may have to tell me.
If 24 fps doesn't make sense, then are you suggesting I should set my fps to 20, 25, or 30?
Thanks.

24 is the FPS Fluidanims' stick animators use. Is that why we shouldn't set the FPS to 24?
