The Spritas Update #2

Mkay, so I guess I should do one of these since I think I've pretty much finished and cleaned up most of the things I wanted to. So, if ya look around the site you'll probably notice a few small differences here and there. I'll just list the most important ones here:

Enabled HTTPS for The Spritas
Search Bar in Navigation menu
Like/Dislike system for comments
Improved dropdown
Private messages show avatar of user who sent the PM
Search results show user avatars for that topic
Added shadows around users' avatars in posts
Edited the appearances of a few other things
Fixed a few bugs (probably caused some as well)
And added Donate button

As far as functionality goes, enabling HTTPS is probably the most important thing here. All that does is ensure that your private login information is harder to get ahold of when using this website. That's an extremely dumbed down version of that because it actually does a whole lot more but if you're really curious you can look into it using Google.

Probably the next two biggest changes were adding a new (and sexy) search bar to the navigation bar. I don't think I really need to explain that too much. The next biggest change I suppose would be the new like/dislike system. And I mean that's pretty self-explanatory as well, comments that are well received will be liked and comments that aren't so well received will be disliked.

The other thing I should discuss is the Donate button. Basically, keeping the domain name as www.thespritas.com and keeping HTTPS enabled costs money, so I set up a donation button if ya wanna help me pay for some of this. I could also use the money to improve other areas of site. For example, one of the things I would like to do is get more memory and re-enable the Gallery so people can host their own sprites here. I could even make it to where we can host our own animations but that's way off in the future. I could also use the money to enable Super Groups for the DeviantArt Group, help keep FlashBot alive, etc. Essentially, all I'm saying is donations could really help the site in a lot of different aspects. Obviously, you don't have to donate and you shouldn't feel bad for not donating, BUT if you want to help then that is what the donation button is for. ~~Also, helps me get my 20pc McChicken Nuggets from McDonalds.~~

So yeah that is pretty much it as far as updates go.

all jokes aside I've been meaning to ask, what's the reputation system about and how do you get more?

also the value of a dollar is different in Canada than it is here in US

Ah yeah I guess I should explain that more. So basically reputation is, ya know, reputation. How much people like what you say. I've set up the reputation system to work like this. If someone likes your post you gain reputation. If someone dislikes your post you lose reputation. You gain more than you lose though, so that people don't get crazy and completely ruin someone's life just cuz they said one stupid thing.

Also where your post gets liked matters too. Generally, getting a like will get your 2 Reputation points. You'll earn 3 Reputation points for getting a like in Introductions and anywhere in The Spritas Events category and Downloads forum. You'll earn 4 Reputation points for getting a like in the Animations and Sprites categories and 5 Reputation points for getting a like in the Collab forum.

You can also get double the reputation for a like if you're thanked by the topic author. So for example in the Collab forum if you get thanked, you get a whopping 10 Reputation points.

Now, sure Reputation points don't do anything right now except tell other users that you have good posts but I do have some ideas for what they can do in the future. You're also welcome to suggest ideas and I'll consider them.

Actually, I ate a plain burger about 3 years ago, it was okay, not as good as McD's or A&W(Unsure if that is in America, But it is good af, best burgers I ever eaten)
