[How-To] Remove Background Colors

GIMP I use for specific things then I go back to Fireworks, Photoshop, or Paint.net.

Well overall, Fireworks is what I use but sometimes It acts gay and doesn't let me copy stuff.

Lol, I use Fireworks to add effects to sprites and paste into flash.

I think I'm most talented in GIMP, but I really don't use it for sprites often.
(I made my avatar in GIMP...it's sexy )

And I use Paint.Net to edit sprites and remove pesky backgrounds lol.

Before I quit messing with sprite sheets back in like '07 I use to be kinda good at editing sprites but now I suck really bad lmao

itz way easier 2 just get fireworks, then click tha BG with tha selection tool thing and just go 2 select similar, delete and bam tha whole sheet iz transparent

Yeah but if the background is white, then it will get rid of the white on a sprite character which is what you do not wanna do. That's why I chose Dark Sonic; his eyes and gloves are white and so is his background...

Well you don't have to select all. There is a way to get only the spots around it but then it'd be difficult to get those annoying pest one in the middle of the sprites.

Omfg, the broly I have is jam-packed with little blue dots when I magic wand the blue off it. theres a charging pose that has a motherload of blue stuff.

I think Magic Wand is best for me. But that method is good.

I'm more used to paint.net.

Hypothetically, if I was a noob who didn't know what to do after to removing the white off the sprite sheet, what do I do next, and what do I need to do with it in Flash?

Save it then open it in Fireworks. Then from there just copy and paste it into flash

@Rapid: Lange says you shouldn't do that (or at least thats what his tutorial said.). You should put the entire sheet into flash, through exporting, and start copying and pasting in there. It saves image size. If you have transparency thats when you break it apart and use magic wand.

Yeah, I know I'm a noob. I already know thise Renny. Pft, I aint dat stupid. Hypothetically, i I were a stupid-noob who didn't know that, I would thank you a LOT, considering that I have problems with sheets, and that I used to trace big sheets and sh!t.

Tracing the sheet...that's almost as bad as tracing a background...

The image was a crappy jpeg.
The image was a crappy gif.
The sprites have anti aliasing, making it extremely difficult to rip correctly.
You payed no attention to the tolerance setting.
