So yeah, there will be a Pokemon Direct on Friday. I am pretty stoked for it. I am hoping that we get a new Pokemon game which will most likely happen. Probably Pokemon Z. But we'll see.

I
Yeah I figured they wouldn't really change anything. It wasn't that broken though there were definitely noticeable slowdowns when there were horde battles or when the game was doing a lot graphically. But hey maybe they figured some things out this go around.
So I am SUPER excited that we can transfer Pokemon from Red, Blue, Green and Yellow to Pokemon Sun and Moon. The main reason is because that will introduce some very interesting competitive movesets. I doubt this will be legal but one thing that comes to mind is No Guard Machamp with Fissure.
So No Guard gives 100% accuracy to all moves used by the Pokemon with that ability. The other side of the coin is that they will also get hit by all the moves used by their opponent. So basically Fissure will always hit unless a Pokemon protects (I think) or if the other Pokemon is Flying-type (cuz Fissure is Ground-type).
Pretty sure that will be an illegal moveset but maybe not.

I didn't even know there were illegal movesets. They should make the fucking annoying Toxic Protect STAB Healing/Recover moveset illegal cuz it's so obnoxious

but that's one of my favorite pokemon roles lol one of my favorite competitive pokemon is
Poison Heal Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
- Toxic
- Protect
- Roost
- Earthquake
It's so good at stalling out pokemon that aren't prepared for it and it's a pretty versatile moveset. For example, I could switch Protect with Substitute and now if you can't break my Sub in one turn you're gonna be in a lot of trouble lol So good.

I HIGHLY doubt that will be possible lol we can get some infinite items tho which is nice. it means we can get infinite tms!

It's so obnoxious and boring though. My friend had a Vaporeon that did that and I literally just quit and never played with him again because it took so long for anything to happen.

Got back in to pokemon pretty tough after letting ORAS & XY sit in my case collecting dust. But im looking forward to Sun and Moon, real curious about the changes they'll make and new mons they'll introduce. That water and fire typing mon got me real curious. As always i'll be getting the blue colored version of Ultimate Mon Fighters: Moon, also because I just like the moon.
In addition I don't think i could get in to the competitive mon-fighting scene. I don't have enough knowledge and i'm always brutally overmurdered by other players. I just like breeding and training pokemon I think look cool. Im in the process of training all dual type fighting mons and putting them on my team for looks/presentation. Fighting types are my favorite type, and ghost. If a fighting and ghost dual type is ever made and it isn't a shitty looking mon, i'd be so happy.

Yeah I'm really interested to see what they do with this new generation.
Also, Competitive isn't that tough. And if you wanna try it out you can actually just download Pokemon Showdown and make a team and try it out. The main thing is learning different Pokemon's strengths and weaknesses and knowing what to do in certain situations.
For example, if someone begins the match with a Kangaskhan then it's probably gonna Fake out. So if you have a Ghost pokemon w/ Will-o-Wisp it'd be good to switch to that because the Fake out won't hurt them and you can threaten them with a Will-o-Wisp meaning you get the Momentum. This is why Gengar with Will-o-Wisp is one of my favorite competitive mons to use because people generally expect Gengar to attack because it's frail but really strong and really fast. But if I can get a Will-o-Wisp then Gengar can actually live some pretty strong attacks.
Of course, he's pretty strong/fast so honestly it's usually better to just go ahead and switch to a different sweeper.
Okay that sounded pretty complicated but a lot of that just comes from playing the game enough to know what to do in those situations.

Yeah, knowing how to get out of setups is an issue and a lot of times i have no mons with moves that can counteract, or I do, I just don't see the potential, so yeah. Im gonna try that battling thing you mentioned as well as doing mock battles in the vs recorder cause that helped a whole lot too. I remember fighting my cousin's klefki in a mock battle and that fucker was annoying, substitute, thunder wave, some other move and foul play, couldn't touch the bitch for shit. Used venomoth to disable that bitches substitute and hit him with volcarona's flame thrower but all that switching out gave klefki plenty ground to thunder wave those mons too and i didn't have any items to heal them or anything, so it was a pretty ugly situation

Re: Pokemon Sun and Moon

ah yes, Klefki, the harbringer of death. One of my favorite 6th gen Pokes lol and yeah that's a pretty standard moveset for Klefki.
and in competitive you gotta get used to not having items lol only items you get are those you put on your pokemon lol

I think Pokemon Z is still a possibility. I think it's something they may come back to a later time though, possibly next year.

HEY GUYS NEW STARTER POKEMON
more art of starters. https://imgur.com/a/LyUhW Owl starter is adorable, it has a fucking bowtie and everything. May be the first time I ever choose a grass starter (if the evolutions don't suck)

as far as design goes I only really like the cat(though its whisker's look weird)
anyone think the owl will be both grass and flying?

Rowlet is Grass/Flying
But my boy Litten is the shit. And can we take a moment to observe the fact that the Sun legendary is fucking a Liger Zero Ultra Mechazord?

fire cat: golly gee willickers
grass owl: nice concept, dont like design
clown water seal: nice clown concept, dont like design
If i were designing these i would've swapped the seal and cats typing for that contrariness to real life, making it more interesting (like magcargo), and do some serious significant physical changes. for the owl i'd just make a few changes to make him pop a little more, he's pretty dry i think.

I was surprised that GameXplain was so impressed with the designs of the starters, only the grass one didn't look like ass to me.

well at the end of the day everyone has the their own opinion on design. you liked the grass best I liked the fire best(except its whisker's).
besides the main reasons people even choose their starter is mostly based on these reasons.(not in any particular order)
1)looks
2)type
3)moves
4)evolutions
5)how much help it will be in the first few gym battles if you happen to know ahead of time what the gym types are
for me personally its usually 1 2 and 4, everything else just goes my way by chance lol
