Short Animation Empty Short Animation

12/2/2015, 11:50 pm
This is my second animation that I did (and posted onto Youtube).  It's pretty short, but I'm satisfied with the way it turned out.  Maybe I'll do longer animation shorts in the future if I can.

This is my first time using vcam by the way.

lol that was pretty funny and pretty well animated.

when you're moving your camera make sure to ease either in or out. Generally you'll ease in when the camera starts moving an ease out when the camera stops moving. This makes it so that your camera has a more smooth, less jerky feel to it and helps the viewer's eyes not feel like they're being jerked around a lot.

You can also show the camera around to show intensity or show hits or impacts such as the case of the green one falling and hitting the ground. The actually for comedic effect I actually think it's better the camera is still during that moment. Still, just in case you that wasn't something you considered I figured I'd say something.

Really liked how you used your sound effects. Especially when the green guy is flying all over the place. That was really nice.

But anywho I enjoyed this a lot. Definitely make some longer animations 'cuz I want to see them!

I got a similar tip earlier when I showed it to someone else. Something I'll keep in mind.

Ah yeah I'm not surprised. You did really well for your first time using it tho!

For me, it helps to think of the camera as the viewer's eyes. Thinking about it like that helps me keep in mind how I'm using the camera. May not be the same for you but that's my how I do it lol

ah yeah it does.

my general rule of thumb is that text should be fully visible on screen for like 1-1.5 seconds. maybe 2 if it's a bit longer

I'm working on that. I forget that not everyone reads at the same speed.
