Editing a character in photoshop
on 2/12/2014, 12:04 pm
So i have been editing my character for a while now in photoshop and i noticed something. they have a grey pixels like a mario sprite sheet.
The problem is i don't want the grey pixels at all. Here is the question:
1. Is there a way to delete those grey pixel quickly for example that it automatically selects them and then delete?
2. Do I have to delete them manually by deleting one by one?
3. Is there a third option, like i have to use another program to delete those grey pixels?
If you are wondering what photoshop i have, I have photoshop CS5 and I'm using a Macbook Air.

if its background color then just select them with the magic wand or something. if they're anti-aliased then its p much unfixable

i'm here trying to figure out what do you mean by grey pixels
specify, grey pixels could mean ANYTHING.
if it's a grey background, use the magic wand on it??????
if it's anti-aliased (read: blurred) then there's no easy fix

do you mean the grey and white checkerboard? that's photoshop way of indicating a transparent background. it's not really on your sprite. if you export it and use a image viewer they will not be there. but i'm not sure if that's what you mean
you said the ones you selected are not what you meant, and yeah those are part of the MLSS style.

If you look at the sprite sheet, you can see the grey pixels. I don't mean the transparent. Look on the character's grey pixels. THOSE are the one i want to delete but they are too many.

nah it's ok.
although, i can't see any grey pixels aside from those that you have even selected. those are a feature of the sprite style used in MLSS. you can remove them, but honestly i don't see the point.
either way, in photoshop there's something called contiguous when you use the magic wand. uncheck that and try again

Sorry if you misunderstood, i do mean those i have selected. You can even see those i didn't select are grey pixels around the character just like a MLSS sheet. But i do not want those grey pixels, that's is why im created this topic.

The problem is the grey pixels around the character. Since i have many sprite sheet of my character it's gonna take awhile if I delete them one by one. So here is the question from before
1. Is there a way to delete those grey pixel quickly for example that it automatically selects them and then delete?
2. Do I have to delete them manually by deleting one by one?
3. Is there a third option, like i have to use another program to delete those grey pixels?

but as i've said, this is a part of the MLSS style, so you're probably going to remove other important things. i wonder why you're trying to get rid of it

Thank you very much!
Because in my last animation review, the grey pixels turned up be a bad thing and that is why i want my character to be in best quality as possible.
