Yeah that just happened for me lmao
Raw done in 6 hours, effects and other crap took me a week, because I kept restarting over and over. I know my mistakes, but feel free to point them out it helps me immensely!

Alright, sir, I'm gonna go ahead and need you stop with this shit. This is perfectly well made animation and it, nor does it's creator, benefit from your shitty ass comments. 9 times out of 10 this is on a Maplestory animation too, which is leading me to believe that you simply just don't like Maplestory animations. Which is totally fine, but you don't have to make a comment highlighting your disdain for this style of animation. This is TheSpritas, we accept all kinds of animation styles here so either get with it or get lost. Ain't no need for this bullshit.

Now, with that out the way.

Silver, this is a nice animation. You should be a bit more proud of it. The animation is very smooth, and it flows quite nicely. Additionally, your choice of sounds effects really add to your animation and aren't jarring in any way. They fit and do not sound unnatural. I recommend that when you use text your outline it in black or something dark. It's much easier to read this way and looks nicer. Or if it's on a darker background then outline it in white or a lighter color. The orange didn't really blend that much with the background but it was enough for me to have to squint some to read it. I have bad eyes tho so that could be the problem as well. While you do use quite a bit of effects they aren't sporadic and are used sparingly which really adds to your animation. Your camera work is also pretty good, but don't be afraid to shake it around a little, especially with hits that you want to really have some impact. Anyways, hope I helped ya out with some stuff. I'd give this a solid 8.5 outta 10.

I like maple animations if they're not a cluster fuck of effects. That's what this is. Take away the flashy hit effects, which make up most of the visuals and you get a reasonably animated sprite animation.

I didn't say I didn't like this, I do. but i'm tired of seeing maple animations with nothing but hit effects and stale movements. He does a few hit combos and the characters slide forward, we see a character thrown around, twice. everything stops for a few seconds, yellow haired guy goes forward AGAIN with the stale "i attack u" "combos" and low and behold MORE effects that clutter the screen and make the animation seem more exciting then it actually is.

Finally our fighter makes clones of himself and then a crossdressing version of himself and we end.

The short slides and throws we get were done very well. The very little animation we got, I enjoyed. I'll admit you can utilize effects much better than I can, but when it comes to actual combo's, planning and fight choreography...

all this shit, is the same. each and every time. We get fast punches, loud attacks that are constantly reused and hurt your ears and effect after effect. Effects are not meant to make up the entire animation, they're meant to enhance it. That's all this is, effects and sliding. dont' come at me "den they enhance it." when no they don't. The effects shouldn't be the base of the entire animation. In my book, this gets a 6 out of ten. Not because it's maple, but because the effects were whored out incredibly.

I don't care WHAT you animate with. Sonic, Mario, Maple sprites, Flappy bird sprites, if the animation isn't good and it's just the same recycled crap over and over again, what's the point in my watching it? The fact is, Maple animations are most associated with the whoring out of effects. It's either them, or SS124. So again, I have no problem with maples sprites. I have a problem with people who abuse effects to the point where you're seeing the effects more than the characters.

I'd like to add one last thing.

Silve, your animation is not bad. Just please, stop focusing on the effects and think about some fight choreography. Look at your sprites, THINK about how you can use them. STOP focusing on the effects and FOCUS on your animation. Take a moment to think of some interesting fight combos, use the background to your advantage, don't use just a flat stage and make them wail on each other.

Seriously, I'm sure you could make a great animation if you take the time to think of a fight that isn't all about hitting your opponent as fast as you possibly can. Faster combo's does not mean better animation. Your animation skills are good, just stop using effects so much.

Well damn, I was gonna write like a few paragraphs too but he just took it out of my mouth.

Personally, I dont prefer Maple Story animations as they all seem the same to me in the sense that these two small (usually) male sprites are constantly raping each other with elemental effects and blood gory sound sfx, but I enjoyed some moments of this animation here and there.

Make it seem like I spend my entire time slaving away at the placement of a hit effect. Which I don't! I spend more time trying to make the sprite jump than anything else. I was really gonna save time and just not use effects since Leo wanted it done in 6 hours. But I don't really care, there are other ppl that use more effects than me. Hell my best friends worse and he's better than me. This is truly quick work, so I'll take advice on choreography and everything else because I still need to improve in animating. I'll show you a good animation just as soon as I'm back from a break lol. Cause I need one.
Also I can't please everyone ya know I do this for my enjoyment : p

Just because other people do it doesn't make it right. It just makes more sense to focus on the animation and add in effects AFTER you're done. or at least, done a certain part.

I can't do an entire animation and then add effects after it, unless it's a serious, detailed animation that requires a step-by-step process. It all depends on how fast you work.

I usually wait until I'm done with my animations to add effects (oh wait, I never finish mine ohohoho... sadface)

If I did finish them though, I am pretty sure I would wait until the end unless there was a specific case where I would absolutely need to see how the effects works with the animation.

Then cam it then I'm done
I'll occasionally add an effect if I get stuck somewhere. Tbh that's why I was a little heated at SXR's remark on " effects effects effects and animation. If I can't use what I want and how I want then I just don't wanna do it.
