Wait a minute....if we go will all of our progress be deleted? Our registration dates, awards, number of posts, etc.? I don't want to Migrate if we will lose those...
Also if we are going to delete the site we should allow everyone to look over their topics to see if they want to screen shot any of them for keeps. Like I'm doing right now.
We seriously can't just edit the site?

No. That's what we've just spent the past five pages fucking discussing. Did you seriously just figure that out?@YoshiSonic wrote:Wait a minute....if we go will all of our progress be deleted? Our registration dates, awards, number of posts, etc.? I don't want to Migrate if we will lose those...

No we didn't. We talked about how to make thespritas better, then we talked about migrating. We never talked about editing the site, or if our user data would be deleted.
If we did, and I missed it, can I see a screenshot?

I mean, we don't NEED him to hold our hand over there or anything lol, but I think it'd be in our best interest to hear him out...provided it doesn't take him like a month or two to take notice here.
Additionally, I was looking through the other site and it looks good and all, but I think there could possibly be a few things that need to be polished still before we make the move.
i stopped working on this
good luck on both of those
@SXR123 wrote:go back to working on it joey cause it's amazing.
I sympathize with lange on not wanting to lose THIS site because I don't want to see it go either. I had a lot of good memories here. But if we're going to bring the site some more activity, it can't be as it is right now.
also, I want to leave this topic here.

it cant
@Rapidfir3Pho3nix wrote:...We could copy/paste the important topics...right?
EDIT: Not the full threads, but the 1st post of the important threads.
That said, which threads are important enough for us to copy over?
@Granadico wrote:Wed need something systematic to do that. Doing it manually would take for-freaking-ever
@Rapidfir3Pho3nix wrote:True. Copy/pasting even with a group of us would be pretty tedious and time consuming...
Well actually it might not need to be. If we limit the threads we copy over to the absolute most important threads then we probably only need Lange's tutorials, Eric's tutorials, etc. The other threads can be remade...

"Move"? I meant edit the site. You know? Updating, maybe to bring back something like the gallery system we had?
I wasn't talking about moving the site :/ Simply altering it, with code changes.

Damn, Blitz you scary
Anyways, what user data is so important that we should just stay here? Serious question, btw. I'm not sure on the specifics but I believe there's a lot more we could do if we moved. If we can update this site to incorporate the features of the other site then I am all for that provided it's not overly complicated...which I'm sure it is.

the purpose of the new site is that this host is really limited and can't have a lot of customization, so pretty much everything on that new site isn't possible on this site

It's either editing the site, or getting Eric on this, because I'm sure he, or Lange would shoot all of us if we deleted everything almost everything behind their back, well at least Eric anyway, unless you guys know them better. If so, then continue on.

Re: TheSpritas Revitalization Movement

we'd have two different URLs then. Unless we change the URL of this place, like SpritasArchive.com and make the new places thespritas.com, but Eric has to do that since he's the owner of the site

Well, that's an idea.@Rapidfir3Pho3nix wrote:We can't move over without deleting this site/forum? Why don't we migrate over, but keep this place around?
Look people we have to make every considerable measure before doing this.
We can't just be like "Screw it, lets delete and move"
If there are any chances or ideas lets try them out first, or just do what Rapid just said. (Mainly because I have a lot of threads that are in my favorites right now that has some useful spriting tips, yeah I could copy them to a notepad, but I will do that if the time occurs)
@D3 We should wait for Eric's opinion first before locking, maybe this thread could be of some use for some idea making. (Yes I know we already have two of them for ideas)

Eric and Lange feel the same. If Eric refuses to go with the change, there's nothing we can do

Re: TheSpritas Revitalization Movement

What would be the problem with having two URLs? We can keep this as thespritas.com and the other one can be something like "thenewspritas.com" or "thespritasreborn.com" or something. Additionally, if new people try to join then we could display an announcement in the announcement bar saying that we've moved and include a link to the new site.@Granadico wrote:we'd have two different URLs then. Unless we change the URL of this place, like SpritasArchive.com and make the new places thespritas.com, but Eric has to do that since he's the owner of the site
D3, don't lose hope. There is always conflict involved in movements. How do you think it would have been if someone told MLK that he was just a nigger and wouldn't achieve anything and he was just like "Yup, you're right. Nothing I say will affect anyone so I will just give up..." I went into this knowing full well that there would be a little conflict, but with a little civilized discussion we can come to a conclusion.
Even if we don't move to the new site, there are still things here that we can vastly improve upon. I refuse to let this community die just because we couldn't be human enough to get together and make things happen!
Read the first post again. If you tell me what threads are then I can copy them over to the new site.@YoshiSonic wrote:(Mainly because I have a lot of threads that are in my favorites right now that has some useful spriting tips, yeah I could copy them to a notepad, but I will do that if the time occurs)

That's too much effort, people barely stay as it is, who'd wanna go to a website, then go to another, then make an account. And we'd advertise everything as "the spritas" like always, then they'd go here, and it'd be dead, and they'd leave. this would have to have a changed URL and the new one would need this URL.@Rapidfir3Pho3nix wrote:What would be the problem with having two URLs?
