Old project sprites
on 6/28/2013, 10:47 am
So I had 3 months without internet and set about making a huge amount of sprites in order to pit them together against oneanother in a flash animation. Sadly it didn't take, Flash decided to crap out on me and I wasn't experienced enough to pull off what I wanted - now that I know more, I might try it again later, but I thought I'd throw the sprites up here for people to see anyway.

All of these are done entirely from scratch, albeit with some poses used as reference. I did end up piecing together an Animation with them, but looking back at it now it's kind of cringeworthy.

Was originally going to throw This character in there too, but I've been having trouble with some of the growy-attacks, mainly things that involve big sweeping motions like overhead slams.
Feel free to throw critique at me on the latter two sheets - it's kind of redundant on the former since the design is a little out dated and I want to re work it for another character anyway.

Also a couple of tests for what didn't make it into the animation

One Hundred Percent. lD Unfortunately I have this problem where I feel like I have to sprite EVERYTHING and it turns into an enormous, daunting task. XD so I have a tendency to refrain from spriting backgrounds too often. been thinking about doing it more though, we'll have to see if I do.
If you do end up using any sprites I throw up, please ask me beforehand.

I think this is really awesome the animation is nice and fluid and the shading is well done, keep it up
and I know how annoyingly long it takes to make a custom sprite sheet.

It's not so bad. The biggest issue is just, SITTING DOWN AND DOING IT.
Truth be told I cheated with these. I know I can tween in Flash to make stuff flow more smoothly, so I basically just did the bare essentials.

Without tweens they'd probably look something like this, slightly choppy =o=

Very good. I know the feeling which is why it taking so long to post my blaze the cat episode. Everything is custom made. I was thinking we could gather all the decent pixel artist on this site one day bane together and one by one work on the first episode of each other series.

I need to remake that.
Kind of wish I was more active here, considering the other forums I frequent have slowed down, maybe I will be. I need to knock out some commissions before I can devote time to any flashes though.

Revamping the teal bloke. The basic idea is that he does a god-of-war esque ranged attack with HIS BALLS - I mean Magic Balls.
Yeh.
Exactly.
It's in parts so I can smooth the actual effect out in flash, since right now the actual fireball is a little choppy.

This is a very old / outdated concept of the design with a "super attack" esque effect test. I'm using those effects, but I might tweak them to match the newer animation's shading. Maybe.

You know, the fact that these are 100 % custom is amazing seeing how these look so clean and professional. I'm not a big fan of furries but this is really good man. I know everyone keeps saying the same thing but you really do have good things going here. Keep it up ^.^
Current projects:
Kirbacus vs Hiryo 30% Kirbacus vs Link 50%
Guardian's revenge 40% Rio vs Zeke 10%
Hiryo's Quest 2 10% Special vid 70%

I kind of understand the furry thing. Really need to come up with some human/robot characters when I stop derping infinitely. Or hell, dig up my Kirby FC out of the ground and give him his tophat again.

Really depends on what your using them for. Just ask and I can let you know. :V Was contemplating helping out if anyone needed extra poses or weapons or stuff too, but it might take me a bit to get around to that.

I appreciate it anyway. lD It fuels my tremendous ego.

I'm talking about Tweening mostly. Flash can help when making your own effects if only because it has that neat afterimage timeline thing, which IS SO MUCH HELP OH GOD lfjealhtaljra but tweening can make a significantly smoother transition from frame to frame. I have to actually finish a combo with this and see how it works before I can say how well it'll go though.

So I did these over a stream - which i'm not sure if I should advertise here or not? I do over at the MiddleGround, but a lot of the commission material I work on is questionable. ANYWAY, someone told me to man up and be a luigi. so I did.

and yeah you can advertise here man, I'm sure you'd give people here a show.

Hate when gifing these things totally mucks up my colors, so have a SWF. Still need to make some more parts to it, but I'm happy with how it's coming so far.
