Ding, dong, the witch is dead Empty Ding, dong, the witch is dead

Welp, Margaret Thatcher, the first female prime minister (I think, I'm pretty bad at this politics stuff) died, and Britain is erupting in cheers. Obviously, being fourteen, I wasn't around when she was in charge, but goddamn I'm pretty impressed at this lol. Media seems to think she actually did the country good. I'm waiting for misguided attempts at minute silences which people will completely ignore.

Thoughts, for anyone who actually cares/knows who she actually is in the fist place?

She died of a stroke or something.

I'm seriously not exaggerating either. Her death is being greeted by street parties. There were multiple songs written for the day she would eventually die, which are naturally going viral now it actually happened.

I wasn't around so I don't particularly feel anything about it, but even in the days when I was completely ignorant to politics I knew her name and how shitty she was. I can definitely understand the people celebrating her death.

Also, just for the record her children are also terrible people, so no need to feel bad for her grieving family or anything.

**EDIT*** Also, Cher fans getting confused by "#nowthatchersdead" lol.

She fucked up lots of peoples' lives. Even if people celebrating her death is a bit much, it's certainly not to be mourned.

Also I guess her death is a lot more significant to Brits who were actually around at the time. Really her death means as much to me as I'm sure it does to all of you. Not a whole lot.

Well, I don't know what she's done, so I can't really speak on her behalf. Not that I would

I just don't think it's right to actually CHEER for someone dying. But again, that's just m.e

Yeah same here. Even when the U.S. Troops went and got Laden, I was not celebrating. It just seems so wrong to celebrate someone's death.

It depends on how much you value human life really. I'm a pretty detached person so I don't particularly care for the "all life is precious" mindset - it's the individual that matters. Granted, I would hardly celebrate a person's death regardless of what they did. That's pretty extreme and asshole-ish even if she was a horrible person with no regard for human life herself.

Also "Ding Song the Witch is Dead" is reaching top of the charts after her death, which I think is pretty stupid regardless of what you think about her death.

Also, to be honest I think the people celebrating are more the vocal minority than anything else. She was more divisive than universally hated, as seen by the fact that there are still pleny of people disgusted by the others. But people partying on the streets is quite a lot more noticable than people on the internet preaching about the value of human life, I suppose.
