And yeah I know I have to work on my constant desire to write giant text walls. I seriously can't help but contribute to a debate. Is it sad that the social situation I fele most comfortable in is an argument?

The difference between your text walls and my text walls is that your text walls are ONE GIANT MASS OF WORDS.

depends....what does fele mean?
jokes aside, its human nature for people to disagree on something, however no matter the situation one must keep an open mind, else they might miss something worth hearing.

you did...and its still related to sonic,
it cost money to make a game. therefore they need finances to fund the creation of sonic games.

Again though, this is getting my hopes high for multiple playable characters in the next game. I really hope SEGA gets it right this time. They've got it right in these games, at least - characters that all have the same playstyle but have different abilities or attributes to differentiate them from others.
... And now I think about it, more evidence that the game is SA3. I mean, the rest of the "evidence" for Sonic 3 has been mostly teasing and speculation, but this is actually pretty substantial evidence. I'm a lot more welcome the the idea than I was before, though. Even though I still despise SA2 I'm certain they can do this right. Come on, SEGA, don't let me down here.
**EDIT** You know, now I think about it, that one post on Reddit which made claims about the next main Sonic title, including the game having multiple characters and a branching-pathway style similar to Shadow seems a lot more credible now. And you know, the branching pathways don't actually sound all that bad, actually. As long as it doesn't have extremely convoluted missions and make you complete the game ten times, I can see it adding a lot of replay value. Come on, SEGA, why haven't you rveealed anything yet.
And the bigger quetsion, why has nothing been leaked yet? D:

well companies usually wait to reveal something untill they actualy have something worth showing, part of what makes a game fun is the surprise(yea alot of people don't care about spoilers but alot do, they could be trying to balance it.) also keep in mind E3 is only a few months away, and that event is pretty much the best time to reveal something game related, If they actually have something, then it will be seen there along with anything else they have(if there is anything else,) saving your revelations untill a highly anticipated moment is excelent marketing as that is the single point in time the majority of gamers are gathered together, and pay attention to every little thing you bring up.
as for leaks, well, either the usual leaker can't get enough info, or segas increased security measures. to make sure no one breaks the code of silence.

It's not the fact that they're not revealing anything, it's the fact that they usually do. Why did they have to finally learn to keep a secret now? I guess it could be because now they've won a large portion of the fanbase back they don't feel the need to post tons of gameplay videos to say "Hey guys, we've done it! The game won't be terrible this time, we swear!"
It's just kind of jarring is all. Colours was announced in Spring 2012, and Generations in Spring 2011, only a few months after Colours. It's Spring 2012, over a year and a half since Generations' release. I know they're building up hype and all and I certainly can't blame them, but come on SEGA I'm dying here.
I guess if the game does turn out to be SA3 then SEGA are keeping it under wraps due to it being one of the most anticipated (Or controversial, depending on how you look at it) Sonic games. I can see why they're building up hype, especially with all the people thinking that it is SA3.
And yeah, considering all the things that point towards this being SA3, I'm just going to say it's SA3 until proven otherwise. And I'm usually the one telling people off for jumping to conclusions haha.
I wish I had an IOS (Or an Android, since the game will be on them later) but I guess I'm not missing much.

i'm pretty sure a title as anticipated as sa3 would be a multiplat release, not just ios,
i wonder what they were thinking when they made jump though,
"the sky is no longer the limit".....did i miss the part where he went to space?

Um, I was talking about this game with that last bit. Probably should have specified there.
And it's generic marketing lingo, just like "an all new adventure" or "join [insert character here] in their biggest adventure yet!"

So apparently there aren't even enough red rings for any characters besides Amy. Not only is it impossible to unlock all the characters, it's impossible to even get Tails or Knuckles at all without paying for more red rings. Not only that, but the characters aren't even different like they were in Jump - they're seriously just reskins. I seriously hope SEGA updates the game to make red rings more common, or lower the price of the characters, or something, because this is bullshit. Sonic Jump didn't make you have to pay to even do anything, so how the hell did they mess this one up?

taking past screw ups into consideration...is it really that surprising.
in any case the fact that their making you pay for an extra character with litterally the same moveset as one you already have....i'd say their milking this app for all they can get......damn, their finances were lower than i thought.

Yeah. Microtransactions are only cool if they're optional, SEGA. Why even include the Red Rings if you're going to make us pay to unlock anything in the game anyway?

an iOS game making you pay for extra content? I'd have never known >_>

Because there's a difference between allowing you to pay extra to avoid having to play the game for unlockables, and making you have to pay to unlock features that the developers decided to just pretend you could unlock. Micro-transaction based games a la Sonic Jump are fine. But Dash takes thsi to a whole new level by actually punishing the player for not paying extra.

Re: Sonic Dash
3/9/2013, 12:55 pm
its not because its extra content, its because the content isn't good enough to pay for,
those are common characters than are playable in alot of games, and in this one they move at the same speed and have the same moveset as the characters it came with.

Yeah you said it yourself, they're basically just reskins. You usually gotta pay for reskins nowadays because everyone's a greedy bastard.

Who's too damn slow?
If you mean in the original one? Then in a Sonic Temple Run game, you'd make it extremely fast.

I mean that sonic looks slow in the game, but that would make sense considering you start slow and then speed up
