Yup, that's right. I work with more than sprites. For a long time, I wanted to become an animator. What's a better way to achieving that goal than practicing and learning? So, here's some of my old "better" animations. My worse ones are not worth adding to this list. I might add to this... someday.

Hope you enjoy!

Animations:
Sam and Max Talking 1
Ken Stomping
Save Me
Porky Earthbound Test

shit son

You're good man. Even with 2D animation. I'm glad you actually took the time to ANIMATE those things instead of moving around cut outs in Flash which is done everywhere and is just ugly.

The only major flaw in all these is the scratchy and rough look to them. Nothing wrong with that, but I think that scratchy and rough is meant more for sketches and rough animation. This makes your stuff seem unfinished. I don't know if this was because you wanted it to look rough (and unfinished, imo), or if this was because Flash is a terrible program art-wise and you just did this in a sketchy style because a cleaner look would be harder to achieve in Flash.

But again, you're good enough so you'll get a watch from me on dA. Seriously, you're very damn good. I wish my animations had this natural feel to them, you make it seem easy but it really isn't.

Well done.

Oh oh
This doesn't belong here btw It goes in the Animation Center, Completed Animations forum.

Thanks guys! Terribly sorry for the late reply. I can be pretty lazy like that... ;;

@Leo: Thanks, Leo! I'm planning on becoming an Animation Major, particularly in the realm of 2-D traditional animation, so I need the practice of drawing things over and over. That's the main reason why I'm not using tweens in these type of animations. The sketchy look is mostly the result of the way I draw: very sketchy. It's pretty hard for me to make lines that are really clean, but I hope to change that in the near future.

Also, I'm adding another animation to the gallery. It's a really rough animation test of Porky (Pokey) from Earthbound. This was mainly a test to see if I can handle animating more fleshed out character poses.

Hope you guys enjoy!

The last one kind of reminds me of Codename: Kids Next Door for some reason..

Did anyone else watch that show?!?!

But yeah, I think the fact that your pure drawing animation could remind me of a popular animated series is outstanding. I don't know what it's like to do pure drawing animation like that so I can't give any CnC, but I do know that lip sync is SEXY

Thanks, SXR!

@Knux: Thanks Knux! I don't know if I'll ever come around to cleaning it up and coloring it, especially with some rather busy days coming up, but we'll see!

@Rapidfir3: I watched it!... just a couple of episodes though;; I don't really see the resemblance myself, but thanks! Huh... and I guess lip-syncing is one of my better abilities, from what everyone else has been saying. I didn't really expect that, to be honest. ^^;;;

@Suilenroc: Thanks for those very encouraging words. ^_^

@D3Anims: Ack! My first stalker! Run away! x3

@Saulgp: Thanks, though I'll probably leave it as is. I don't tend to come back to redo finished products unless really necessary and I don't think this is an exception, but I'll take the idea into consideration.

@Luigiman364: With the exception of the short "Save Me," yes, all the test animations were done in 24 fps.

@KAreloaded: Did my mediocre attempts at sprite animation give it away? x3 Thanks!

24 fps is the standard for hand drawn animations. Those that go and animate in 30 fps are crazy and should be shot

Yea, hand-drawn animations either go for 12 fps or 24 fps. Actually, here's a bit of animation trivia related to this:

When traditional animators talk about frames per second, they often refer to it as either "ones" or "twos" on a 24 fps scale. If an animation is on "ones", then each frame of the animation is on screen for 1/24 of a second (24 fps). If the animation is on "twos", then each frame is on screen for only 1/12 of a second (12 fps).

Animations does not have to be made up entirely of only "ones" or only "twos". They can contain both. For example, an animation can be on fluid "ones," then suddenly have some of the drawings be on "twos" to give the animation a sudden snap.

Most hand-drawn animations are primarily on "twos" to save time and money. Want to watch alot of pure hand-drawn "ones" 24 fps stuff? Watch at Richard William's work (like "The Thief and the Cobbler"). The man practically lives on "ones". x3

(I apologize if this isn't easy to understand)

That makes no sense.

Besides, almost everyone here is lazy.

That's why we're animating sprites.

indeed it makes sense because: you´re asking why everyone is better than you, the possible reason it´s because they practice and or improve but you dude... you haven´t posted any animation since NS´s collab and it was unfinished D:
