I was pointing out Spongebob because it's changed now; there's little to no adult humor. :\

ok back on topic. Yes I am going to take classes in graphic design, color theory, thematic design, motion size ratios, and bunch of other stuff. Even if it does take people 5-10 years to actually get a job in animation, to me its worth it because i want to make a living out of something i like to do.

Way to point out the obvious dickhead.

Also keezy, that's good man. Some people here do it out of passion. Others out of a hobby.
In future terms, I probably won't hear from many of you except Eric, Lange and like Pac as far as the animation department goes.
A few people however animating or not I will keep in touch with =D

Just today I was at an open house at an art high school, and the media arts teacher said he had dropped the animation courses - he said most students seemed interested until they found how redundant animation was. Not only was this a huge disappointment on my end, but it shows that all of us dealing with the redundancy of animation is something that makes knowledge of any kind of animation, 2d or 3d, is always good to have. Although 3d animation may seemed mostly "tweened" (or whatever you would call it) based, things like fluid movements of camera and character could be a lot more difficult.

But honestly I think 2d will still be around.

Well soon animating will be gone, there will be a few animators left going at it but I'm expecting it to be gone in the future.

Well at least I'm getting into 3D and After Effects. It's best if you guys start making a portfolio now so it's beneficial for you in the future. That's if you want to become a 3D modeler, animator, concept artist, etc...

I have university next year D:

This is my hobby too. I enjoy seeing that i can make my animations which i dream about true. Also i'm planning on taking formation about animating just to improve my skills and on the other hand i get something else to work for my food. So this will be my hobby but i still want to animate like a pro.

Don't need to go to animation school.

In fact, nothing that they usually teach there is that hard to learn on your own.
