At the time, I didn't know how to use actionscript or how you can reduce lag, so I made two separate flash documents, in other words, two separate .swf files. I'll be done in about 14 minutes from this post since I need to scan through all my files and etc etc etc.

You relied too much on those effects, sound effects were lacking and sounded too compressed. The closer combat seemed lazily done in the sense that you had no idea what to do and just threw in what you could. Even though they are closer choreography still applies.
